M.S. Candidate, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems
I graduated from UMass Amherst with a B.S. in Sustainable Food and Farming. I grew up in Western Massachusetts but since graduating I have had the chance to live and work from Cape Cod to Colorado and have had the opportunity to travel abroad. When I started as an undergraduate I had little knowledge of what food systems were, nevermind the complexity behind them. Since that initial exposure, local food systems quickly became a peak of my interest. After taking a hiatus between my undergraduate and graduate career I am eager to start the MS3 program to delve into topics that revolve around policy, public engagement, and nutrition. My goal of completing this program is to be part of creating and implementing community-based solutions that will help cultivate more resilient and sustainable food systems.
