Examining the Effects of Winter Lake Drawdowns on Downstream Habitats
Winter Lake Drawdowns are a common lake management tool in Massachusetts to control nuisance aquatic vegetation. Managing lake water levels consequently alters streamflows by increasing flow during the fall and decreasing flows during the spring, flipping the typical annual flow regime. I am investigating the extent of flow alterations and their impact on aquatic macroinvertebrates and benthic algae.
