US Fish and Wildlife Urban Wildlife Conservation Program announces Springfield as its newest Urban Bird Treaty (UBT) City

The USFWS has awarded UMass ECO project partner, ReGreen Springfield, $49,000 to carry out the first phase of the UBT program in the city. Dave Bloniarz, ECO Adjunct Faculty and US Forest Service Researcher, was interviewed by WAMC/Northeast Public Radio to talk about bird conservation work in Springfield – the country’s newest UBT city. ECO has been working with Regreen Springfield on urban research and community engagement programming for many years, and this project represents another component this ongoing partnership.
