Joe Keefe and Vicki Pavao, who major in Urban Forestry & Arboriculture, each won a $1,500 scholarship from the New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (NEC-ISA). Joe (’08) and Vicki (’09) graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture’s Arboriculture & Community Forestry program before transferring into the B.S. curriculum in Urban Forestry & Arboriculture. Awarded annually, the NEC-ISA scholarships are given to students majoring in arboriculture or a related discipline, based on a student’s academic achievement, field experience, and financial need. "Vicki and Joe are excellent students, and they’ve each spent a fair amount of time working in the field, which demonstrates how well-rounded they are. They are very deserving of the scholarships," said their advisor, Dr. Brian Kane.
