Jessica Lajoie, a senior biology major, completed an independent study titled, ‘Occurrence, abundance and developmental stage of a parasitic nematode in juvenile bluefish inhabiting the the Hudson River estuary, 2010’

Jessica presented her poster at the January 20, 2011 meeting of the Southern New England Chapter of the American Fisheries Society and it was selected as the recipient of the chapter’s Best Student Poster Award. Of the many student presenters, Jessica was the only undergraduate presenter! The award consists of a monetary sum from the Chapter and a certificate to recognize the achievement.  She will be presented the award and certificate during a ceremony at the next Southern New England Chapter meeting. Her poster will be adjacent to Holdsworth 112 for anyone interested in viewing it.
