Ezra Markowitz, an Assistant Professor of Environmental Decision-Making in the Dept of Environmental Conservation, has been selected to receive the 2017 Early Career Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association Division 34 (the Society for Environmental, Population, and Conservation Psychology). This honor reflects the Division’s deep appreciation of the recipient’s scientific contributions to environmental psychology and their dedicated service to the field. The award will be announced at a Division 34 session during the American Psychological Association Convention, August 3-6, 2017 in Washington, D.C. 

Dr. Markowitz’s research focuses on the underlying psychological, social, and contextual factors that motivate and inhibit pro-environmental behavior. Both his teaching and research aim to understand human behavior as it relates to and impacts present and future flourishing of the natural and social worlds.
