Video Media for Science Education and Conservation

Andy Danylchuk is creating an initiative at UMass focused on the use of video media for science education and conservation.  The demand to use video media in our collective disciplines is growing pretty fast, whether for teaching, research, client needs, meeting expectations of granting agencies, or simply creating a greater public awareness of how science works and why conservation is important. This semester we've kicked off a discussion-based course focused on the subject, and in the spring Andy hopes to hold informal mini-workshops/discussions centered around some documentary screenings he'd like to do on campus. Greening the Community

  Eco “Greening” the Community After vandals stole trees that had been planted at the Square One Daycare facility, ReGreen Springfield, a local nonprofit tree advocacy and planting group, quickly took action to donate and replant replacement trees, free of charge.
