National Arbor Day Foundation Designates UMass-Amherst a TreeCampus USA

Thanks to the hard work of UMass alumnus Todd Beals and alumna Mollie Freilicher, UMass-Amherst is now a TreeCampus USA, a designation of the National Arbor Day Foundation. The award honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation. Without proper planning and maintenance, it’s impossible to maximize the benefits that campus trees provide.
