Ph.D. Water, Wetlands and Watershed
Evaluation of the sustainability of the Colombian Orinoco’s Basin under various climate change scenarios.
While the models and predictions of ongoing climate changes are highly developed at coarse scales, there remains large uncertainty at finer resolutions. This is often because of limited local studies. Forecasts of the climate changes and impacts in South America and particularly in Colombian Region are of high demand for action, especially because of the sensitivity of tropical areas to global change. There is a need for applied regional research to assess the effects of climate change on watershed systems. My PhD research will study the implications of a Colombian watershed dynamics under changing climate, using research and modeling that integrates physical, biological and socioeconomic drivers.
