WAMC Northeast Public Radio recently featured a segment on the work of David Bloniarz,  Adjunct Assistant Professor and US Forest Service Research Scientist, on tornado assessment and regreening efforts in Springfield, MA, one of the communities affected by the June 1, 2011 tornado.  The report featured the initial findings from a micro-climate study that was recently completed in the tornado impact zone, as well as introduced a new website – www.regreenspringfield.org – that was developed in order to provide residents with information on how to assist in urban forest restoration in Springfield.  The segment can be heard at http://tinyurl.com/6fj8fyv
