The Family Forest Research Center (FFRC) has brought a new team member on board, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Dr. Pinki Mondal. Dr. Mondal recently completed her PhD in Land Use and Environmental Change from the University of Florida, Gainesville, where her dissertation was focused on integrating geospatial tools and modeling to evaluate conservation interventions in central India.

In association with the USDA Forest Service’s Northern Forest Futures project, Dr. Mondal will be working with the FFRC to investigate the relationship between private forest landowner attitudes and behavior and land use change along an urban, periurban, and rural gradient in the U.S. Northeast and Midwest.

Dr. Mondal’s quantitative and spatial modeling skills represent an exciting addition to the interdisciplinary FFRC team.
