Check out the new ECO calendar

We now have a very capable event calendar system on the ECO website. It basically looks like this:   Instead of looking at it as a picture, you can also check out the live calendar here: http://eco.umass.edu/about-us/eco-calendar/ What makes it even better than sliced bread is that you can subscribe to calendar events (using iCal) with any calendar software you are using (on any device), keeping you always up-to-date. To do so, find the “Subscribe” or "Add to Google" button on the bottom of the calendar page. This lets you subscribe to all of the posted events (including the official UMass events). If you would like to filter events (e.g. show only ECO events or lecture-series events), then make sure you filter them first before you subscribe to the calendar. Quantitative Sciences Group (QSG) Announces New Website

The Quantitative Sciences Group (QSG) has developed a new website (www.umass.edu/qsg) to facilitate dissemination of information pertaining to the objectives of QSG. In particular, the website provides information on the purpose of QSG, the quantitative courses offered, the free consultation service provided and the R tutorials being developed. The R tutorials are a new development of QSG this fall. To initiate the tutorial series, we have posted three tutorials including an Introduction to R, Data Manipulations, and Linear Regression. We have several more in the works, including Binary Logistic Regression, Proportional Logistical Regression, Binary Logistic Regression for use versus available data (i.e. presence only data), Paired (or conditional or case-controlled) Logistic Regression, Multi-level Occupancy Models, Multi-level N-mixture Models, and others, and we will be posting these periodically as they are completed. ...

PhD Student, Javier Sabagol Aguilar, Awarded Eugene M. Isenberg Scholar Award

Javier Sabagol Aguilar a PhD student in the Department of Environmental Conservation has been selected for the 2014 Eugene M. Isenberg Scholar Award.  Javier is developing a "Hydro Corporate Social Responsibility Model –HCSRM" for Hydropower Management in South America.
